Stacey Raven
My name is Stacey Raven. I started working out on my own in March of 2008 with the intention of losing weight and toning up because I gained a lot of weight when I broke my leg playing for the Houston Energy which is the women's professional football team in Houston. I decided to get a trainer because I knew that I wouldn't have the dedication to work out everyday, and knew that a trainer would push me in the right direction. So, after asking some of my friends around town if they knew of any good trainers, this Scotty name just continued to revolve around the Houston area. So I retch out and contacted Scotty and he has been everything that everyone has said. Scotty pushed me to my limits.
I have made excellent progress since I started. I have lost 30 pounds in 5 months. My body fat percentage has dropped from 38.1% to 31%, my lean body mass has increased 3%, my chest went from 41 to 39, my waist has dropped from 41 to 36, my hips were 47 at the start now they’re at 42, and my calves and thighs have both dropped an inch. It has been a challenging journey but, I love every minute of it.
He has guided me in the direction I needed and taught me so many things about core body, lifting weight, cardio, and eating the right kinds of food to get results.
Thanks, Scotty...

My name is Kathy and I started working out years ago but never received the results I have always wanted. I moved to Houston in 2006 so I am new to the Houston area. I thought I would use my spare time in a positive way by exercising. I lost some weight over the last couple years but still had some weight to lose and some toning to do. I promised myself once I was settled in my new home and on my new job I would start working out hard again. So, after I got settled in I asked some of the people I work with do they know of any good trainers because I needed to lose some weight. So my friend at work said she had a friend that worked with a trainer and he lost like 50 pounds in about 7 month and I said man it took me forever to lose 20 pounds. So I was introduced to Mr. Scotty and he made me feel like I knew him for years.
I started training with Scotty a week later. After, my first week I was so sore; he told me the proper steps I should take because my body was in total shock. He mentally prepared me for a long ride. I've had very good results. In the first 10 weeks I have lost 19 pounds. I have reduced my fat percentage by 10%, increased my lean body mass by 8 pounds, loss 5 inches around my waist, 4 inches off my hips, 2 inches in my upper arm and 4 inches around my chest. Now it has been 1 year and I have lost a total of 60 lbs and gained over 20 pounds of muscle. I am so proud of myself.
When I lost weight before, I watched what I ate and did 1 hour of cardio 5 days a week. I did not use supplements or do resistance training so I lost a lot of muscle as well. I always wanted to hire a personal trainer, but I thought it was too much and that I would not get my monies worth. Scotty made me a liar and made me appreciate trainers and made me realize how important they are. Without Scotty, I would have not had the motivation to do the resistance training. I was not comfortable using weights until Scotty showed me the proper way to use them. I was afraid to hire a personal trainer because I was afraid he would push me to hard. He made me feel like I was the best at everything I did. He had patience with me the whole time we trained. Scotty told me at the beginning that we were a team and we will work together to achieve results. He's always there to encourage me and I know I'm accountable to him on a weekly basis, so that helps to keep me on track. He does challenge me, and it's hard at times, but I'm doing things I never thought I could do.
Scotty, you are the best!!

I started training in 2007 because I was "desperate." I had tried all the fad diets and had just stopped going to Curves because I wasn't seeing the results I thought I should have after a year. My main desperation came from seeing my mother pass away after being bed-ridden for two years from a stroke. She also had diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol and had by-pass surgery about 5 years ago. My father has had his second by-pass surgery, an aneurysm, high cholesterol & high blood pressure. I did not want to go through what my parents went through.
When I first started out with Scotty I did the bare minimum, but stuck to the meal plan he gave me. There was a time when I was traveling a lot, and my father was in the hospital so I did not have time to stick with the work out. After a couple of months of not seeing the results I wanted to see, I figured I had better start listening to Scotty and working out on a regular basis. Scotty said the body fat, inches and lean body mass were changing but the scale wasn't. Scotty explained to me that the change in fat percentage and lean body mass was more important than the pounds and eventually it would all fall in place and it did.
For me, it helped to write down what I ate on a weekly basis. Once I did that for a couple of weeks, I could check labels and do a quick check in my head of how much I have had and how much I have left for that day. Scotty explained all of this for me in simple terms so that I understood. After working out and following my meal plan for 4 months I have lost 25 pounds. I am now seeing a change in the way I look and the way my clothes fit. Now, I put my workouts at the top of the list and will postpone any other plans until I have worked out with Scotty. The training can be difficult at times and I will say "I can’t do this" to which Scotty responds "I don't know what that word “can't” mean.
I have personal monthly goals and I'm now more focused and confident I can reach those goals.
